Would highly recommend a visit, even just for the walks and nature. The history and knowledge of staff here is just a bonus. The cave tour is a must to really appreciate this historical site! Only downside for us was that the circular path was blocked off so you could only walk down one side of the water and we weren't informed beforehand. Otherwise a fabulous day out for all ages. Will be back to see The Witch Caves! (That were closed due to sleeping bars) 🦇

Lots of restoration/ tree work going on, meaning only one half of the lake can be walked and you cannot do the full loop.
It is all explained on a poster, that I saw at the end of my walk, the reason for the closed areas. I do not recall seeing it on any other posters before entering the grounds, or before paying for parking

Our guide, Hannah, was brilliant. Really kept our grandsons, aged 8 and 10, engaged and interested. On a previous visit the guide was not so tuned in to children. So it's probably the luck of the draw to some extent!

Lovely place to visit and spend a couple of hours. Have events for the kids normally centred around nature & history. I live locally so normally visit a few times a month when the weather allows.Top tip : buy an annual parking pass, costs around £17 but you get free parking for the year.

We visited Creswell on Sunday, and were super excited after not having been for several years. We booked onto the Life in the Ice Age tour, and were swiftly met by our guide, Simon. He was the most incredible guide, getting to know all of us through the tour and making sure we were all safe and well looked after. His breadth of knowledge and enthusiasm were incredible, and I learnt so many things I'd never known before. I particularly loved his focus on the humanity of Ice Age people, and what learning about them can teach us about our own humanity today. It was just brilliant! After our tour we hit the cafe, and the food, drinks and service were all incredible - better than many restaurants! Lastly we visited the museum which was incredibly well presented, with a range of artefacts, little films to watch and interactive elements. Of course we couldn't leave without a bunch of stuff from the gift shop 😂 We just had the most excellent time, and I've spent the whole time since just longing to go back! Highly recommend Creswell to anyone coming from near or far - it's worth the journey!

Beautiful nature in a peaceful setting - there is much history to creswell crags. The walk around the lake is on flat even pathways suitable for wheelchairs and buggies. I've been many times at different times of the year and it's always different and always beautiful. They are currently clearing some of the overgrowth on Cragg's along one side of the lake but this doesn't affect visitors. You can see spring bulbs poking their heads through the earth and there are some fabulously large log piles around and many types of birds. Ducks on the water so take some seed or bread and they will come and feed a really relaxing place great for spotting wildlife in particular birds of prey and native plants also free to enter
